Check their agreements. If they’re receiving commissions from selling agents or developers, they’re not independent. If they, or their company, list property to sell, that’s a huge red flag.
If their promises sound too good to be true, or they’re specifically pushing you toward a particular type of stock — like new builds or off-the-plan — that’s typically a red flag too.
Ask the agents you’re vetting these questions, and get the answers in writing.
